West Grand

The West Side is a pedestrian-friendly commercial neighborhood with a “small town” atmosphere. There are several traditional eateries, groceries, coffee shops, breweries, antique shops, and other businesses in the area.  The West Grand area in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has a thick suburban feel to it and is a terrific location to live, learn, work, and play, with a personal slogan of “West Side, Best Side!” West Grand provides everything you need for a happy life within walking distance…corner grocery, parks, churches, ice cream, and a plethora of specialized and service shops for vehicles, computers, and other items. Businesses and people relocating to the region are enhancing the quality of life for everyone. Between the proximity to the heart of downtown, diversity of food options, and the everlasting culture. This unique area of Grand Rapids was populated by Polish, German, and Irish immigrants and, even now, you can sense the different cultures all around the community. Maggie’s Kitchen serves some of Grand Rapids’ greatest Mexican cuisine. The beef tostadas are best enjoyed with a Mexican Coke or Guava Jarritos. New Holland Brewery’s Knickerbocker, One Bourbon, Butcher’s Union, Harmony Hall, O’Toole’s, or SteelCat, Kale’s Korner, the Flamingo Lounge, the Holiday Bar, the Triangle Bar, Putt Putt’s Bar, the Anchor Bar, Broadway Bar, or Playstation Pub are all good options for an adult beverage. Thousands of new people have moved to the West Side thanks to developments such as the Lofts on Alabama, the Barley Flats, and the Condos at Union Square. West Grand offers a variety of public and private school education alternatives to meet the requirements and desires of families.
